Local students win again at CBC’s 2019 Canadian Music Class Challenge
Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board students have earned two second-place finishes in the CBC’s 2019 Canadian Music Class Challenge.
Oak Ridge Percussion, based in Colborne and consisting of many former Colborne Public School Drum Line members, took second place in Senior Instrumental category for its version of Marie-Mai’s Je Décolle. Watch their performance at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9JPpEkeWGU
The Newcastle Public School Choir placed second in the Elementary Vocal Grades 4-6 category for its rendition of Alessia Cara’s Scars to Your Beautiful. See their performance at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qcr-yL6rug
The Canadian Music Class Challenge is sponsored by the CBC and MusiCounts. This year, close to 50,000 students in almost 1,200 classes across the nation entered the Music Class Challenge.
