We are currently offering two different educational workshops in order to service a wide range of student abilities and ages. DrumBox which is geared towards younger children with a proven track record of success with students grades K-9 and Drumline which is best geared towards students grades 5-12.

DRUMLINE WORKSHOPS
WHAT IS DRUMBOX?
DrumBox combines physical activity with rhythmic awareness set to popular music.
DrumBox is a unique program for people of all ages which has shown great success with younger children. The goal is to share rhythm and get students in tune with each other and themselves. It also combines physical activity with rhythmic awareness set to popular music. Each Drumbox workshop begins with musical theory using common words as building blocks for rhythmic passages.
Students are then introduced to drumsticks and the Drumbox in a series of call-and-response patterns where they can improvise their own rhythms. Afterwards, they are led through a rhythmic routine set to popular music where their input will contribute to the final product. Finally, each student gets a chance to play a melodic song on a xylophone in a full group ensemble.
1 HOUR WORKSHOP - 1 CLASS
This one hour workshop is available to groups with up to 35 participants. The goal of this workshop is to share rhythm as a group using physical movement to help teach basic rhythmic principals. Combining music theory lessons with rhythmic exercises and physical activity set to popular music allows students to increase their rhythmic awareness.

WHAT IS DRUMLINE?
In a Drumline workshop students learn the fundamentals of drumming with an emphasis on fun, collaboration, and cooperation.
In a Drumline workshop students learn the fundamentals of drumming with an emphasis on fun, collaboration, and cooperation. Each Drumline workshop begins with the basics of how to stand, hold your sticks, and play with an emphasis on uniformity.
Students are then led through beginning exercises that focus on building rhythmic awareness as an ensemble. Finally, students learn some fun grooves that loop and offer the opportunity to perform short solos.
